Sport Relief Mile

Bournemouth rose to the Challenge for Sport Relief - thank you!

Over 650 local people turned out in force on Sunday at the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in the Littledown Park in Bournemouth. Milers of all ages rose to the challenge and the morning was a massive success with friends, families, superheroes and fairies all joining together to help transform lives here in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.

Thousands of people across the whole of the UK took part in over 300 Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Miles. For the first time, the Mile went global, with a special Mile in South Africa.

Celebrities rose to the challenge too, with David Walliams and a group of celebrity friends cycling the length of the UK from John O’Groats to Lands End, Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton kayaking the Amazon river, Christine Bleakley tackling the English Channel on waterskis, and Lawrence Dallaglio touring the Six Nations on his bike.

The cracking Sport Relief Night of TV took place on Friday 19th March, and was an unforgettable night bursting with energy, entertainment and enthusiasm!

Thank you to everyone in Bournemouth for rising to the challenge for Sport Relief. Visit the Sport Relief website for an update on the amount raised
